The Playlist Module in DSHub allows users to create and manage dynamic content playlists by combining images, videos, templates from DSEditor, and apps such as YouTube, Instagram, Website, Weather, Announcements, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Canva, and PosterMyWall. Playlists are essential for organizing and scheduling content that will be displayed on screens connected via DSPlayer. What You Can Do in the Playlist Module: - Access the Playlist Dashboard – View, search, and manage all playlists in one place. - Use the Playlist Editor Interface – Add content, reorder items, and fine-tune playlists. - Drag-and-Drop Sorting – Easily rearrange items within a playlist. - Managing Playlist Settings in DSHub – Apply visual effects between playlist items.

Playlist Dashboard in DSHub

The Playlist Dashboard in DSHub is the central hub where you can view, manage, and create playlists. From here, you can easily edit playlists, preview them, and organize content for screens connected via DSPlayer. Key Elements of the Playlist Dashboard 1. New Playlist Button Located at the top-right corner. Click to start building a new playlist by adding images, videos, templates (from DSEditor), or YouTube links. 2. Playlist List View Displays all existing playlists in a table format with the following columns: Name – Playlist title. Last Modified – Date and time of the last edit. Duration – Total runtime of the playlist. Actions – Icon buttons (Edit, Preview, Delete) for each playlist. An Items count column is also shown. 3. Search Bar Located at the top of the dashboard. Quickly search playlists by name. Playlist Row Actions Each playlist row has icon buttons to: - Edit: Open the Playlist Editor Interface to modify items, reorder content, or adjust transitions and durations. - Preview: View how the playlist will display on DSPlayer-connected screens in a popup simulation. - Delete: Permanently remove the playlist (only if it is not currently in use).

Creating a Playlist in DSHub

The Playlist Creation page in DSHub allows you to build playlists by combining images, videos, templates from DSEditor, and apps such as YouTube, Instagram, Website, Weather, Announcements, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Canva, and PosterMyWall You can arrange items in order, set durations, add transitions, and preview the playlist before publishing to DSPlayer screens. Step 1: Open Playlist Creation - From the Playlist Dashboard, click New Playlist (top-right). - A blank playlist editor will open where you can begin adding items. Step 2: Add Media - Use the right panel to browse and search for content. - Choose from: - Images – Uploads from your content library. - Videos – Uploaded or stored video assets. - Apps– Integrations like YouTube, Instagram, Website, Weather, Announcements, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Canva, and PosterMyWall. - Click the “+” button next to an item to add it to the playlist. - Or drag and drop the item directly into the playlist container on the left Step 3: Add YouTube Videos - Click on the Apps tab, then select YouTube. - A popup will appear: - Paste the YouTube URL. - Enter an Instance Name (display name for the video). - Choose Audio Settings (Muted or Unmuted). - Click Save to add the video to your playlist. Step 4: Arrange Playlist Items (Drag-and-Drop Sorting) 1. Items are listed in playback order in the left panel. 2. Click and hold an item, then drag it up or down to reorder. 3. This determines the playback sequence. Step 5: Set Item Duration - Each item displays its playback duration (default: 5s). - Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust duration in seconds.

Managing Playlist Settings in DSHub – Transitions, Preview, and Save

In DSHub, the Playlist Editor provides powerful tools to customize your playlists. You can edit playlist names, adjust transitions, preview playback, view total duration, and save changes for use in your schedules. 1. Edit Playlist Name - At the top of the playlist screen, click the pencil icon next to the playlist name. - Enter the new name and press Enter or click outside the field to save it instantly. 2. View Total Duration - The Total Duration shows the combined runtime of all media in the playlist. - This updates automatically as you add/remove items or adjust individual durations. 3. Preview the Playlist - Click the eye icon (Preview) to watch the playlist playback in sequence. - The preview window helps confirm timing, content order, and transitions. 4. Adjust Transition Effects - Click the gear icon to open Transition Settings. - Choose from available effects: - Slide In Right - Fade In - Rotate In - Zoom In - Flip In - Use the speed slider to set transitions to Slow, Medium, or Fast. - Click Save to apply your transition settings. 5. Save Playlist - After making edits, click the Save icon (disk icon). - A confirmation ensures all changes are saved for future use in schedules and playback via DSPlayer.
